Refund Policy

Last updated:

The short version: top up with confidence. Within 14 days of a purchase, unused prepaid balance is refundable in full; what you have already spent on reviews and scans is not. Paddle is the Merchant of Record and processes the refund.

01Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Charges on your card or bank statement appear as Paddle (or PADDLE.NET), not Patchlight. Patchlight does not take or store your payment details.

02What you are buying

Patchlight is billed with a prepaid USD balance. You top up that balance and spend it on metered work — PR and commit reviews, security scans, reports, AI chat, Linear task checks, and other usage shown in the product.

New accounts may receive a one-time free allowance. That allowance is not a purchase and is not refundable.

0314-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with Patchlight for any reason, you may request a refund within 14 days of a prepaid top-up.

  • Unused balance — if you have not spent any of that top-up, you are entitled to a full refund of the unused amount.
  • Partially used balance — if some of the top-up has already been spent on metered work, we refund the remaining unused prepaid balance from that purchase. Amounts already consumed are not refunded.
  • Fully used balance — once the purchased funds have been fully spent, no refund is available for that top-up, except where required by law or where the Service materially failed to perform (see below).

04How to request a refund

Contact us at hello@patchlight.dev with the email on your Patchlight account and the approximate purchase date or Paddle receipt. You can also request a refund directly through Paddle using the link in your receipt email, or at paddle.net.

Approved refunds are processed by Paddle to the original payment method. Card refunds typically appear within 3–5 business days; PayPal is often faster. Access tied to refunded funds ends when the refund is approved.

05Product defects and statutory rights

If Patchlight materially fails to provide the Service as described — for example a persistent outage that prevents you from using purchased balance — contact us first so we can fix it or arrange a refund via Paddle.

Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. Where local law grants a stronger right of withdrawal or refund, that law applies. For EU/UK consumers, a statutory 14-day withdrawal right may apply to digital services until performance has begun with your consent; using prepaid balance to run reviews, scans, or other metered work is performance of the Service.

06What is not refundable

Except where required by law or covered above, we do not refund:

  • the free starter allowance;
  • prepaid funds that have already been spent on metered usage;
  • requests made more than 14 days after the purchase;
  • charges disputed after evidence of fraud, refund abuse, or manipulative behaviour.

07Subscriptions and cancellation

Patchlight does not sell recurring seat subscriptions. Prepaid balance does not auto-renew. You can stop using the Service at any time; unused purchased balance remains available until spent or refunded under this policy.

08Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The version in effect when you complete a purchase governs that purchase. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
